On September 15, the two teams will play a three-match Test series after the inaugural T20 International series in Dharamsala.
The South African cricket team, led by Quinton de Kock, arrived in India on Saturday for a three-match T20 International series. Fast bowler Kagiso Rabada tweeted, 'Feeling thrilled to be in India and waiting to play cricket again.'
South Africa will begin the tour with the first T20 International match to be played in Dharamshala on 15 September. The second and third matches of the series will be played in Mohali (18 September) and Bengaluru (22 September) respectively.
After the T20 International series, South Africa will play a three-match Test series against India, which will be their first match in the ICC World Test Championship. Test matches will be played in Visakhapatnam (October 2–6), Pune (October 10–14) and Ranchi (October 19–23).
The team is likely to meet the South Africa High Commission in Delhi on Monday, after which it will reach Dharamshala on September 9.
The team will play here under the supervision of Interim Director Enoch Enquay. After the poor performance in the World Cup, the team did not extend the contract of coach Otis Gibson.
